At Horse and Husky, your safety and the safety of our animals is of utmost importance. Husky mushing is an adventure activity and does involve a level of risk. Customers should accept this and liability for their own actions. This does not affect your statutory rights or restrict liability for negligence by Horse and Husky.

 

Experiences involving horses and dogs all involve a level of risk.  Customers should accept this and liability for their own actions.  Instruction will be given at the beginning of your session and will be continued throughout the activity.  It is important that these instructions be followed carefully at all times.

 

We reserve the right to ask guests to leave if we feel their behaviour is likely to compromise the safety of themselves, other guests, our dogs or our members of staff. In this event, no refund will be offered.

 

Cars and their contents are left at the guest’s risk. Horse and Husky accept no liability for loss or damage to vehicles or their contents. Customers must also accept liability for the safeguarding of their own valuables; we accept no responsibility for damage or loss of valuables.

 

Customers should also exercise road safety as there are can be vehicles which have access to some of our tracks. In addition, some of our tracks do have rough terrain so please exercise caution.

 

Any activity involving animals carries its own inherent risks.  Although we adhere to safe practice accidents may still happen.  We therefore recommend you take out Personal Injury and Accident Cover for you and your party members, as well as for your animal(s) if applicable.

 

Unless you are postponing to a future date, any cancellation with less than 48 hours’ notice will be chargeable at the full cost of the experience.

 

Here in the Lakes, we sometimes experience extreme weather conditions including rain, cold and snow. It is the guests’ responsibility to dress for the occasion with suitable footwear, waterproof outerwear etc. Horse and Husky accepts no liability for damage to personal effects, including clothing.  Long sleeved tops and long trousers are recommended.  You can expect to get muddy and wet at times. 

 

For the safety of our dogs and equipment you must weigh 18 stone or less. If you are believed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, you will be asked to leave and no refund will be given.

 

Whilst you do not need to be an athlete to drive the dogs, hike with the huskies or take part in a horsemanship session a reasonable level of fitness is required. If any participating person or animal shows any signs of distress he/she will only be permitted to continue following satisfactory assessment by the activity leader.

 

Children who are not participating directly in events must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.  They must not be permitted access to the rigs, cycles, dogs or horses unless supervised by the activity leader.

 

Please tell us of any medical or other condition(s) that may significantly increase risk of harm during the activity/activities.
